37 new companies registered a Bishop's Stortford office in September 2026, up from 25 in August. A tyre hub, a playbarn, a bakery and the rest of the list.
Thirty-seven new companies were set up with a Bishop’s Stortford registered office in September. That is up from 25 in August and close to July’s 41.
The figures come from the Companies House advanced search, filtered on the registered office address “Bishop’s Stortford” and the date of incorporation. We ran the searches on 7 October. Each company’s line of business comes from the standard industry (SIC) code it gave Companies House.
What kind of businesses
Professional and business services were the largest group, followed by software and IT.

We grouped the companies by their first SIC code, except where a company gave several codes that pointed clearly one way.
The names that stand out
Most new companies are consultancies and one-person trades. A few names read like businesses residents may meet on the street:
- Bishop’s Stortford Tyres Hub Limited, incorporated 11 September, registered under maintenance and repair of motor vehicles.
- Evo Playbarn Limited, incorporated 8 September, under other amusement and recreation activities.
- Littleuns Ltd, incorporated 14 September, under manufacture of bread, fresh pastry goods and cakes.
- Burkki Ltd, incorporated 1 September, under take-away food shops and mobile food stands.
- Orbit Event Partners Ltd, incorporated 24 September, under event catering.
- Kim’s K9s, Home From Home Ltd, incorporated 6 September, under other service activities.
- Sol Hub CIC, a community interest company incorporated 23 September, under education and social science research.
A company registration is not an opening. We searched for the first three and found no trading website or premises announcement yet, so we cannot say where or when they will trade. The search counts companies whose registered office reads “Bishop’s Stortford” today. A company formed in an earlier month that has since moved its office elsewhere drops out, so older months may be slightly undercounted.
What it means for you
- A registered office is a postal address, not always a shop. Several of these companies share an office with others, which usually means an accountant’s or formation agent’s address. The “Bishop’s Stortford” postal town also covers villages in the CM22 and CM23 postcodes, some of them over the Essex border in Uttlesford. Two of September’s companies are registered in Hatfield Heath, about six miles south-east.
